If you have a life-limiting illness you may find the following sections of the website provide useful health and symptom advice.

If you have any concerns about your health or symptoms please contact your GP.

Coping with eating and drinking

When you are feeling unwell you may find that you are unable to eat your usual meals and you may lose weight. This could be due to one or more of the following:

  • Feeling less hungry
  • Feeling full quickly
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Dry / sore mouth
  • Taste changes
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Pain
  • Tiredness

If you or your family / carers are worried about any difficulties you have with eating and drinking please talk to your health care professional who will be able to give you advice and support. There is also information on loss of appetite etc. in the section below (Information about General Health & Symptoms)

General health and symptoms

This section provides you with information about general health issues and some of the symptoms which may occur if you have a life limiting illness. Some are caused by your condition and others are because of the treatment you are receiving. You may have one or more of these issues or none at all.

If you have any health issues or symptoms that are causing you concern, please contact your GP.
