Help and advice

Patient and carer help and advice

If you would like any help or advice about palliative care please contact your own GP in the first instance.
If it is urgent and outside of surgery hours, you can contact the NHS on 111 who will direct you accordingly.

Alternatively, palliative care patients and carers can contact NHS 111 on 0345 605 0621.

Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

Most NHS organisations have a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to help members of the public, carers and patients with enquiries and to:

  • Offer advice and information about NHS services like Choose and Book, how to register with a GP or how to find a counsellor
  • Ensure any concerns are dealt with promptly and in confidence
  • Listen to comments so we can continue to improve patient services
