Communication Skills Study Days
for Hospital Based Nurses and Allied Health Professionals
(Band 5 and Band 6)
20th April 2010 9am to 4pm
Aim: To increase confidence and competence in communicating with palliative care patients and their relatives. This opportunity is aimed at Band 5 and Band 6 nurses and AHP’s.
Method: Participants will receive a workbook that will require completion prior to attendance at a study day. The study day will provide an opportunity to consolidate learning and practice skills using facilitated role play. Topics will include anger, collusion, denial and “difficult” conversations.
Venue: NVQ Centre, SJUH (behind Trust HQ), 9am to 4pm.
